This film is by Naomi Klein and Avi Lewis - the celebrity activists who are the darlings of the corporate media but not always of the movement they 'represent'. At the same time as defending themselves against the facists, the anarchists in the east of Spain undertook one of the broadest and most successful processes of anarchist revolution the world has ever seen. The workers and peasants collectivised land and industry and set up local councils to organise life democratically. The success of these agrarian collectives survives in the minds of anarchists today as an example of how anarchist society can flourish - even in the most adverse conditions.
