OCCUPY QANTAS: Protest millionaire CEO, show your support for workers

Date and Time:
Wednesday, November 23, 2011 -
4:00am to 6:00am

Qantas CEO Alan Joyce is speaking in Sydney at a UNSW School of Business "Meet the CEO" event at City Recital Hall, Angel Place (http://www.asb.unsw.edu.au/events/pages/)

Joyce is a clear symbol of the greed and ruthlessness of the 1% - join our protest outside the meeting to show him how we feel, and demand that Qantas meets workers' demands to keep their jobs and have decent wages that keep up with the cost of living.

Joyce, whose salary $5.1 million a year, is trying to cut jobs and conditions from workers on as little as $38,000 a year. He wants to cut 1000 jobs, outsource baggage handlers' jobs, and employ new staff on lower and wages and conditions than the rest.

Yet Qantas is making booming profits from those workers - $552 million in the last year, plus another $169 million from the wholly-owned subsidiary, Jetstar.

Joyce locked out his entire workforce in late October, and succeeded in winning a termination to all industrial action to fight his profiteering. Lets build support for the Qantas workers and send a message that we won't stand for this at Qantas or anywhere else.

Human need not corporate greed!
