Welcome Visitor:

Public Rally: Stop Gas Drilling in Sydney

Date and Time:
Sunday, September 18, 2011 - 9:00pm to Monday, September 19, 2011 - 12:00am

The Coal Seam Gas Industry is coming to the city.....

Gas company Dart Energy hold an exploration licence to drill for gas across Sydney, and have targeted a site in St Peters, behind Sydney Park, only 200m from residents and 5km from the CBD!

Residents are concerned about the impacts of the industry in such a densely populated area and have made it clear to Dart Energy over and over that they are not wanted..... but the company are pushing ahead with plans to drill anyway.

The St Peters well will be the first one in an urban area in Australia and sets a dangerous precedent - your suburb could be next!

Lets' stand up as a community to call for a ban on all gas mining until the water, health and environmental impacts are known.

MEET: 11am, Camperdown Memorial Park (Cnr Lennox and Eliza St Newtown - next to the Courthouse Hotel)
MARCH: Down King Street to the proposed drill site
JOIN US: for music, food and speakers in Sydney Park

Entertainment from The Lurkers, Blues artist Don Hopkins and more....

HELP OUT on the day, contact moira.williams@gmail.com

They've never mined in a city before. Don't let St Peters be the first time.
