The Fanya Baron Library is an ongoing project of the Jura Books
Collective. The project has progressed in recent years from being 'a
pile of books in boxes' to the sorted and shelved system
shown in the photo. It took many hours from many volunteers, and there
is still a long way to go. In the future, we would like to add a
catalogue system to keep the books in order.If you have a passion for information science, or just love historical
and rare books, please contact us about helping with our library
project.

Presently, the
Fanya Baron Library is a reading library. Everyone is welcome to come
in and browse while the shop is open. Jura Books Collective Members and
regular friends can borrow books.

Who is Fanya Baron?

Фаня Барон и Арон Барон

Fanya Baron was a Russian anarchist revolutionary. She worked with
Nestor Makhno, Emma Goldman and Alexander Berkman (to name a few), to spread anarchist
organising and ideas throughout Russia. She was eventually executed in
