Ideally, we respond by constructing forms of anarchist communication powerful enough to render the capitalist media irrelevant. However, amongst anarchist communities, occasions arise where individuals and collectives make decisions to engage with corporate media.
Wednesday, December 14, 2011 - 6:00am to 8:30am
Sunday, December 18, 2011 - 2:00am to 4:00am Why do we live in a society that has never been so unequal?
Why do the rich 1% put corporate greed before human needs of the 99%?
Why do homes cost so much and rents are so high? Why can mining CEOs get rid of a democratically elected Prime Minister?
Why do CEOs get massive pay rises while cutting everyone else's pay?
Why can't we have a say in how our workplace runs?
We are richer than ever, so why is there always less and less money for hospitals and education?
Why are we all always in debt?
How come the banks get away with charging so much?
Sunday, December 18, 2011 - 12:00am to 2:00am Stay tuned for details of what will be in school!
About the Free School
Occupy Sydney has been present in Martin Place almost continuously since 15 October 2011. A crucial part of the occupation is open public discussion. Some of these discussions are organised into a ‘Free School’, held on most Saturday afternoons.
Free School is:
a space for honest, frank and respectful discussion and the
building of solidarity amongst participants
open for everyone to present or join sessions and workshops
Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 12:00am to 8:00am Occupy Sydney invites individuals, families and inviting community groups to join us for a festival at Martin Place on 10 December – the Global Day of Action and Global Human Rights Day.
